Broadview is a friendly Victorian Guest House situated a short stroll from the centre of the village of Ambleside and Lake Windermere at Waterhead.Broadview offers good quality non smoking bed and breakfast accommodation for couples, families with older children and groups of friends.
The Broadview Guest House is in the Lake District town of Ambleside, just a 10-minute walk from Lake Windermere. It offers award-winning breakfasts and cosy rooms with free Wi-Fi .
The rooms at the Broadview feature TVs, DVD players and mini-fridges. Some have views of Loughrigg Fell and the Langdales.
The extensive breakfast menu includes traditional English, vegetarian and continental options. Produce is locally sourced and it is accompanied by homemade breads.
The Broadview can provide walking maps for the many routes surrounding the hotel. Packed lunches, including homemade cake, can be made up for guests.
There is a bus station in Ambleside with regular services to Windermere Train Station, which is 5 miles away. Guests receive free parking at a public car park 100 metres from the guesthouse.
From the M6 take exit 36 and follow A590A591 past Windermere to Ambleside, continue through the traffic lights at Waterhead passing the Waterhead Hotel on your left. Broadview is prominently situated on the right of Lake Road directly opposite Hayes Garden World. Windermere is the nearest railways station. Buses and taxis can be taken from the station to Ambleside.The best place to park is a couple of hundred yards past us in the Low Fold Pay and Display Car Park near the Mountain Rescue Centre. The car park is free overnight from 6pm-9am. During the day, we can provide a parking permit for one car per room, this allows you to also park in most South Lakeland District Council Car Parks during you stay (subject to their terms and conditions of course). The Permit must be returned to us on check-out before 10am on the day of departure.
