Brathay Lodge, Ambleside, is a traditional English Lake District B and B which was originally built as two semi detached properties around 1890 probably to satisfy the demand for guest, BandB and hotel accommodation by the Lake District tourist industry which was then in its infancy.
This refurbished Ambleside bed and breakfast offers free Wi-Fi and bedrooms with a spa bath, shower and king-size bed. It is a short walk from many local eating places.
Brathay Lodge was built around 1890 and is very well located for walkers, mountain bikers and golfers visiting the Lake District. Free parking is available.

The bed and breakfast is close to the centre of Ambleside and scenic walks. Lake Windermere is about 10 minutes' walk away.
South - from the M6 exit at junction 36 and follow the A590A591 to Windermere and then onto Ambleside. As you approach Ambleside you will get to Waterhead, bear left at the traffic lights and follow the road past the lakeshore and into Ambleside village. (If you miss this turning continue past the Waterhead Hotel to the one-way system at Wansfell Road) On joining the one-way system at the junction of Wansfell Road manoeuvre to the right hand lane, The Brathay Lodge is within 100 metres on the right hand side, directly opposite the tennis courts and park.North - from the M6 exit at junction 40 and follow the A66 to Keswick and then the A591 to Ambleside (signs to Windermere). However there are more scenic routes via A592 around Ullswater if you have the time. At Ambleside you will enter the one-way system at the top of the village and you will need to continue in the one-way system and turn right into Wansfell Road, which is signposted back to Keswick. At the bottom of Wansfell road turn right. The Brathay Lodge is within 100 metres on the right hand side, directly opposite the tennis courts and park.
